Recipe: How to Make Your Own Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds™ at Home
Can't wait for the next event that we'll be at? Well, wait no more! Here is how to make your own Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds™ at home...beer battered style, of course!
Making your own Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds™
at home is relatively easy. You just need a few ingredients, some
patience (about 5-10 minutes from start to finish), and an empty
stomach! (You'll need an empty stomach because once you have one,
you'll want more!)
Preheat oil to 350F – 375F degrees
In the bowl, slowly mix together the Cheese Curd Batter Mix and beer
- The batter should be fairly thick and free of lumps. (Add extra beer or batter mix as necessary to reach desired consistency. Soupy batter mix makes a BIG mess)
Dip the cheese curds in the mix (frozen cheese curds work the best)
- Gently shake off excess batter
Carefully place the covered cheese curd into the heated oil
Fry 1-2 minutes or until golden brown (over-frying will cause the cheese to ooze out from the batter casing)
Strain, eat, enjoy, wipe excess oil from lips with napkin, repeat!
(For a beer-free recipe, follow directions on back of bag.)
